Golden Earring - Radar Love
"Radar Love" is a song by the Dutch rock band Golden Earring. The single version of "Radar Love" reached #10 on the Cash Box Top 100 and #13 in Billboard in the United States.
It also hit the Top 10 in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, and Spain.
Radar Love
I've been drivin' all night, my hand's wet on the wheel
There's a voice in my head that drives my heel
It's my baby callin', says I need you here
And it's a half past four and I'm shiftin' gear
When she is lonely and the longing gets too much
She sends a cable comin' in from above
Don't need no phone at all
We've got a thing that's called radar love
We've got a wave in the air, radar love
The radio is playing some forgotten song
Brenda Lee's comin' on strong
The road has got me hypnotized
And I'm speedin' into a new sunrise
When I get lonely and I'm sure I've had enough
She sends her comfort comin' in from above
We don't need no letter at all
We've got a thing that's called radar love
We've got a light in the sky, radar love
No more speed, I'm almost there
Gotta keep cool now, gotta take care
Last car to pass, here I go
And the line of cars drove down real slow
And the radio played that forgotten song
Brenda Lee's comin' on strong
And the newsman sang his same song
Oh one more radar lover gone
When I get lonely and I'm sure I've had enough
She sends her comfort comin' in from above
We don't need no letter at all
We've got a thing that's called radar love
We've got a light in the sky
We've got a thing that's called radar love
We've got a thing that's called radar love
The Band - The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
"The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" is a song by The Band, recorded in 1969 and released on their self-titled second album.
Joan Baez's cover of the song was a top-five chart hit in late 1971.
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
Virgil Caine is my name and I drove on the Danville train
'Til Stoneman's cavalry came and tore up the tracks again.
In the winter of '65, we were hungry, just barely alive.
By May the 10th, Richmond had fell.
It's a time I remember, oh so well.
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the bells were ringing,
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the people were singing
They went, "Na,na,na.na,
Na na na na na na na na na.''
Back with my wife in Tennessee, when one day she called to me,
"Virgil, quick, come see, there goes Robert E.Lee!"
Now I don't mind I'm choppin' wood, and I don't care if the money's no good.
You take what you need and leave the rest,
But they should never have taken the very best.
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the bells were ringing,
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the people were singing.
They went, "Na,na,na na
'Na,na,na.na na na na na na..'
Like my father before me, I will work the land,
And like my brother before me, I took a rebel stand.
He was just eighteen, proud and brave,
but a Yankee laid him in his grave.
I swear by the blood below my feet
You can't raise a Caine back up when he's in defeat
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the bells were ringing,
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the people were singing
They went, "Na, na, na na ... "
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the bells were ringing.
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the people were singing.
They went, "Na, na, na na ..."

The Train to Heaven in Wroclaw
The Train to Heaven is a monument depicting an old, real steam locomotive standing upright and pointing towards the sky, located at Strzegomski Square in Wroclaw, Poland.
The 65-years-old engine was procured from a museum and erected here in 2010 by artist Andrzej Jarodzki. The sculpture was commissioned by the city of Wroclaw and Wroclaw’s developer company Archicom to commemorate its 20 years of commercial activity in the city. The steam engine is 30 meters long and weighs 80 tons. The monument is said to be the largest urban sculpture in Poland.
Andrzej Jarodzki, an artist from Wroclaw, came up with the idea a long time ago while playing with his son’s toy engine. At one point he set the toy upright and that’s where the idea came from. However, Jarodzki was unable to realize it until he was approached by Archicom. Only five years old, the Train to Heaven is already Wroclaw’s most famous attraction.

Eartha: World's Largest Rotating Globe
The globe is enormous — 41 feet in diameter and weighs 2,500 kg, so big that you need to take the stairs to the second or third floor to see the northern hemisphere. In 1999 the Guinness Book of World Records confirmed it was the largest globe to be ever made, beating the previous title holder, the Globe of Peace, located in Pesaro, Italy, by more than 9 feet. The globe is housed inside a three-story glass atrium which is beautifully illuminated at night and readily visible from U.S. Route 1.
Eartha was unveiled in 1998 and took two years to complete. It was built at a scale of 1:1 million, meaning that one millimeter on its surface corresponds to one kilometer on Earth's surface. That allowed the builders to put great deal of details such as road networks and urban areas, as well as relief and ocean depth info. The database used to generate the surface images was approximately 140 gigabytes. That was a big thing back in 1998. Google Maps wasn’t invented then.
The globe is built on a skeleton of over 6000 pieces of aluminum tubing which is covered by a skin of 792 map panels. As with most globes, its mounted at a 23.5 degree angle, the same axial tilt as the Earth itself. The equator is thus diagonal to the floor. It uses a cantilever mount with two motors, that slowly rotates the globe completing one rotation in about 18 minutes, but it can be sped up to fully rotate the globe in as little as one minute or slowed down to an hour.

Top 10 Dumbest Inventions Ever
A car that flies, a bra that doubles up as a golfing green, and a pet you'll need a lot of imagination to play with... there are good reason why these ridiculous inventions can't be found today. Watch the clip to discover the 10 Dumbest Inventions of all time
10. Shiri
Shiri is a Japanese mechanical butt that exhibits emotion in response to human touch.
Made from skin-like silicone, it will tense up in fear if hit, and shiver - seemingly in pleasure - if stroked. Internal microphones help Shiri determine how it's being touched, for instance recognising the sound of a slap.
09. High Five Simulator
Described as "a convenient outlet for the release of excitement", this 1990s invention is essentially a spring-loaded arm that will high-five its owner.
08. Pet Rock
When the Pet Rock hit shelves, creator Gary Dahl made $15 million in the first 6 months.
The rocks came in a cardboard carrying case, with air holes and a bed of straw, and included a manual about how to care for and feed the Pet Rocks. 1.5million people snapped up the rocks, ignoring the fact that rocks were widely available on the street for free.
07. Foot-Powered Bike
A bike with neither a saddle nor pedals forces the rider to run at regular intervals between periods of coasting - once they have built up speed.
Created to encourage bike-riding in cities, with the Fliz Bike the 'cyclist' wears a harness around their chest and dangles face down from a metal bar.
06. Golf Putting Bra
A Japanese company designed a bra that can be turned into a mini putting ground, for any women desperate to play a quick game of golf.
Designed with a pocket for extra balls & tees, it also included a speaker that congratulated players on getting a "Nice shot!". Unfortunately the company overlooked the fact that a woman would be left without a bra while she played.
05. Parachute Jacket
French tailor and inventor Franz Reichelt created the Parachute Jacket, which he hoped would eventually be worn by pilots in case of emergency.
04. Mizar Flying Car
Evidently we didn't learn our lesson from Franz, as in 1973 the inventor Henry Smolinski created the flying car.
The invention was actually a Ford Pinto with the wings, engine and tail of an airplane attached.
03. Fat-Free Potato Chips
In 1998 snack company Frito-Lay introduced Wow! A brand of fat-free potato chips. The miracle chips included an ingredient called olestra, a food additive.
It tasted exactly like fat, but was said to contain no calories or cholesterol. However, once eaten, it turned out that the ingredient prevented the body from absorbing nutrients. As a consequence, those who ate them suffered from cramps and diarrhea.
02. Baby Cage
In the 1930s more and more Londoners began to live in tiny apartments in high-rise buildings. With no access to gardens, some parents hung cages from the windows of their apartments and placed their children inside so they could get some fresh air.
01.The Firebox
Created in 1938, the Firebox was an alarm intended to trap pranksters reporting fake fires.

Swastika, Ontario
Swastika is a small community founded in 1908 around a mining site in northern Ontario, Canada, and today within the municipal boundaries of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
Swastika is a junction on the Ontario Northland Railway, where a branch to Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec leaves the ONR's main line from North Bay, Ontario to Moosonee.
The Northlander passenger railway service between Toronto and Cochrane serves a station at Swastika, with connecting bus service along Highway 66 into downtown Kirkland Lake.
The town's other claim to fame is its association with the Mitford family, who owned the Swastika Mine for which the town was named
During World War II, the provincial government sought to change the town's name to Winston, in honour of Winston Churchill, but the town refused, insisting that the town had held the name long before the Nazis co-opted the symbol. An important figure was Christopher Macaulay, direct descendant of Thomas Babbington Macaulay, who fought to keep the name as Swastika.
